Pro-Life Advocates Arrested for Demanding Investigation of Full-Term Babies Killed in Abortions

Three pro-life advocates with the group Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising were arrested after locking themselves together in front of the White House today. They were demanding an investigation of multiple full-term babies killed in abortions in the nation’s Capitol.

The three activists wore makeup and costumes to represent three aborted babies killed by Cesare Santangelo at the Washington Surgi Center abortion business. This action came a year and a half after the discovery of 115 aborted babies outside a DC abortion business by the group.

Caroline Taylor Smith, Executive Director of PAAU and one of the activists arrested today told LifeNews:

“We are here in solidarity with aborted children, calling for an autopsy for the 5 late-term victims of Santangelo still waiting frozen at the Medical Examiner’s Office. Time is running out for these babies, and we must take drastic steps towards justice for them! Risking our freedom is the least we can do for these children. We DEMAND that an autopsy be performed NOW!”

Elise Ketch, another activist arrested today and the Digital Content Strategist for PAAU, told LifeNews:

“The Society of Family Planning found that the method of abortion Santangelo uses on viable babies has a 50% failure rate. There is good reason to suspect three babies were killed with illegal procedures or left to die. Only their autopsy can disprove this. If DC government won’t order an autopsy, then we’ll agitate to get the most powerful people in the country to call for it. Viable babies are killed just two miles from the White House every day. I love these babies and I’ll get arrested for them again.”

Last year, pro-life advocates Terrisa Bukovinac and Lauren Handy made a horrific discovery when they opened boxes of medical waste from a late-term abortion facility in Washington, D.C.

Inside were the bodies of 115 aborted babies, including five who appeared to be nearly full term and possibly victims of illegal partial-birth abortions or infanticide.

However, D.C. officials seemingly have done nothing to investigate the horrific discovery in the past 12 months, despite repeated calls from U.S. Congressional leaders and pro-life advocates. Undercover investigations exposing other unethical and potentially illegal activity by abortionist Cesare Santangelo and his Washington Surgi-Clinic appear to have gone ignored as well.

In March of 2022, Bukovinac and Handy found the bodies of the five late-term aborted babies and more than 100 first-trimester aborted babies in boxes that they received from a truck driver who was collecting medical waste from Santangelo’s abortion facility.

Right after the horrific discovery, Handy said the babies appeared to be “so advanced in their gestational age and the patterns in their wounds suggest violent federal crimes,” potentially partial-birth abortions or infanticide.

Washington, D.C. allows unborn babies to be aborted for basically any reason up to birth, and the Washington Surgi-Clinic advertises abortions at “27 plus weeks of pregnancy,” which is long past the point when babies are viable outside the womb.

Years ago in an undercover investigation by Live Action, Santangelo admitted that he “probably wouldn’t” help a baby who survives an abortion even though “legally we would be obligated to help.” He later backtracked on that statement in an interview with the Washington Post.

Then, in 2022, another undercover investigation found his abortion facility requires patients to strip to the waist and take mind-altering medication before meeting with the abortionist to obtain their consent for an abortion.

Speaking Tuesday at the press conference, Kristen Turner, executive director of Pro-Life San Francisco and PAAU communications director, said city authorities should revoke Santangelo’s license to dispense medicine because of what that investigation found.

“If the D.C. Board of Medicine does not revoke [Santangelo’s] license to dispense medication, the blood will be on their hands,” she said, later telling the Christian Post: “If you claim to care about women, if you claim to care about their health, even if you’re pro-choice, you should know that what’s happening here is wrong. It’s not OK. It’s violence, and the D.C. Board of Medicine needs to revoke his ability to dispense medication.”

Santangelo is accused of injuring and killing pregnant women, too.

Here’s more from the report:

Bukovinac said Santangelo has been “embroiled” in lawsuits, accusing the abortionist of being responsible for the death of at least one female patient. She also stated that three of the five full-term babies she and Handy recovered “appear to be victims of violent federal crimes.”

Bukovinac likened Santangelo to Kermit Gosnell, a Philadelphia abortionist found responsible for the deaths of one woman and multiple infants born-alive at an unsanitary facility he operated for years. The abortionists’ crimes were uncovered by accident in 2010 during an unrelated drug raid.

“How long are we going to go without justice?” Bukovinac asked.

Last year, dozens of U.S. Congressional leaders joined pro-life advocates in demanding a federal investigation into Santangelo’s practice. However, some expressed doubts that the U.S. Department of Justice will do anything because pro-abortion Democrat officials with the Biden administration lead the agency.

Bukovinac said they are not giving up the fight because babies and mothers deserve better.

“We will not give up until Santangelo is held to account and the people facing pregnancy decisions in D.C. are no longer prey to criminals like him,” Bukovinac said.

Hyperbolic headlines often prove to be a disservice to the substance of the issue.

There are no limits to tyranny...

There is no end in sight...

The Declaration is clear on this issue...

For example:

He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.

He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.

He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only.

.....

He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone, for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries.

He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance.

...

He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power. p He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation:

...

For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent:

For depriving us in many cases, of the benefits of Trial by Jury:

Etc...Etc...Etc...

They weren’t arrested for demanding an investigation. They were arrested for the way they staged their demands.

If they were arrested for Demanding Investigation of Full-Term Babies Killed in Gaza by locking themselves together in front of the White House, then that were be more unexpected.
