I looked it up.

The Little Blue Engine

The little blue engine looked up at the hill.
His light was weak, his whistle was shrill.
He was tired and small, and the hill was tall,
And his face blushed red as he softly said,
“I think I can, I think I can, I think I can.”

So he started up with a chug and a strain,
And he puffed and pulled with might and main.
And slowly he climbed, a foot at a time,
And his engine coughed as he whispered soft,
“I think I can, I think I can, I think I can.”

With a squeak and a creak and a toot and a sigh,
With an extra hope and an extra try,
He would not stop—now he neared the top—
And strong and proud he cried out loud,
“I think I can, I think I can, I think I can!”

He was almost there, when—CRASH! SMASH! BASH!
He slid down and mashed into engine hash
On the rocks below... which goes to show
If the track is tough and the hill is rough,
THINKING you can just ain’t enough!

THEY SAID THAT
IT COULD NOT BE DONE
by
Benny Hill

They said that it could not be done,
He said, “Just let me try.”
They said, ‘Other men have tried and failed’,
He answered, ‘But not I.’
They said, “It is impossible,”
He said, “There’s no such word.”
He closed his mind, he closed his heart...
To everything he heard.

He said, “Within the heart of man,
There is a tiny seed.
It grows until it blossoms,
It’s called ‘The Will to Succeed’.
Its roots are strength, its stem is hope,
Its petals inspiration,
Its thorns protect its strong green leaves,
With grim determination.

“It’s stamens are its skills
Which help to shape each plan,
For there’s nothing in the universe
Beyond the scope of man.”
They thought that it could not be done,
Some even said they knew it,
But he faced up to what could not be done...
And he couldn’t bloody do it!

"Why should I have to pay so someone else’s brat can get free milk?"

You prefer it go in the gutter?

In my HS, they have to take the milk, whether or not they want it.
Then the kids toss it right into the garbage can conveniently placed there.

I prefer that school systems to establish programs for the education of students, which is the reason for their existence, and do so in accordance with the wishes of the parents of those students, no more, and no less. I attended schools for 19 years and none of the schools I attended were concerned with how I got to school and back or what I ate for lunch.

"When I was in public grade school, one had to pay 2 cents for white milk, and 3 cents for chocolate milk."

Were the apples free back then or did they come with the "hot lunch?"

The apples were of the delicious variety and I cannot recall any of the kids actually eating them.

That’s the exact set-up I remember us using from Kindergarten through High School.

Not sure why this is such a problem. You’d think the EnviroWeenies would be for anything that makes less waste for Mudder Erf!

That is NOT the world we live in today.

So, either the milk is wasted, or not.
