It’s funny, when I would ask for milk money from my mother(RIP), an extra penny for chocolate milk, she scolded me, and said “chocolate milk will give you diabeties”.

To be honest, I only remember having milk in kindergarten. I think from first grade on everyone packed a thermos in their lunch box. I can still vaguely remember the smell of the thermos after spending half a day unrefrigerated.just think of how wildly unsafe things were back then. Egg and tuna salad left at room temperature and just about every kid ate deadly peanut butter sandwiches.
