The Catalans are even more leftist than Sanchez and many places there have a large Muslim population. They’re not popular and, on top of their demands for amnesty - for what was a genuine take over attempt - they want their share of the debt paid! What they didn’t mention in the article, but what I know because I happen to be in Madrid right now, is that the Spaniards who were demonstrating the other night were yelling things about Sánchez, but they were also yelling “Spain is Christian, not Muslim!“. España cristiana, no musulmana.
The left in Spain and everywhere else is very pro-Islamic takeover.
