Well, I can understand why they are upset.
Why, after so many decades of philanthropic effort in Africa, do they still have third world living conditions? Why aren’t they building infrastructure and factories?
I think it’s the culture.
For contrast, we aided Korea in the years following the cease of hostilities in the Korean war. They started out dirt poor, living in third world conditions, starving. But when we helped them, they thrived. Today, South Korea is an economic powerhouse. And they make addictive Kdramas (TV series) that have a following all over the world. They stopped needing any help decades ago.
Same with Japan after WWII.

Yep - they hate whites but love what they created. Ought to cement all those wells shut and let them rot.

It’s not a stereotype, it’s fact. Case in point: white Christian missionaries who go into African villages and drill wells for clean water checked back in on one such village later. The wooden handle installed on the water pump had been broken off. The villagers did not attempt to repair the wooden handle but waited for the missionaries to come back to do so, choosing to use unsafe water sources until then. That’s dependence and philanthropy.
The problem is actually again SOCIALISM!
Independent Africa got established around 1960, when the Soviet style socialism was the way to go. So all the helping hands are helping the community, not the people.
They should build the well and sell it to somebody, who would then charge reasonable fee for every cup of it. That person will then take care for the well to work forever.
Unfortunately, in socialism, you cannot do that. That person will be branded exploiting capitalist and run out of the town.
But, if the well is common, somebody, who does not care about somebody else’s children, will figure out that the pipes can be sold for few bucks! Community be dammed!
It takes village effect! If it is not mine, I can vandalize it.
They are taking the Rhodesian road to Hell. Rhodesia was agriculturally and technologically superior for its era and location. Along came the commies, and the place was an instant $hithole. On the other side of the globe, Venezuela is similar.
Rhodesia and South Africa could have been models for all of Africa and Black self government with such models is possible. The problem is communism and the peoples willingness to fall for it and/or being forced into it.
They prefer $Cash$!!!...It’s easier to steal. It’s kinda difficult to find buyers in that part of the world for parts and materials stolen from a completely installed, functioning well.
Let Africa sink.

Money to governments and NGOs is why governments and NGOs feather their nests first, and often last. What ever would these essentially evil people do if misery was abated?
Sure enough, when I had to leave and the Afghans took over, within a few years the organization was gone.

Yes! To some, problems are not things to be solved, but things to be managed.
The ONLY problem I have with that is the Chicoms taking over completely even faster than they already are. When they own Africa, they will move on north and west. Not in my lifetime, but still...
