I remember back around 1968 when one of the tabloids claimed Kennedy was not killed in Dallas but injured. The claim was that Jackie had “married” Onassas to have a remote island to keep him there till he died. A telescopic photo of Onassis’ island showed what appeared to be a man in a wheelchair with his head wrapped in a hospital dressing.
It was claimed Kennedy later died there and was buried at sea.
Then several years later the autopsy photos of Kennedy were released showing he had been killed in Dallas.
