Probably because he’s autistic. If they still had long term nervous hospitals I for one would be in favor of him doing 30 years there. They would be better equipped than a prison than dealing with autism.
It’s sad that he has autism, but he needs to be prevented from causing this type of life-altering harm to others. The poor woman’s life is ruined, and her own school district has little sympathy for her and her injuries if they have her on leave without pay!
