The Rolling Stones announce tour sponsored by AARP

You can’t always get what you want, but you actually can if you’re a Rolling Stones fan looking to see the band live.

The Stones announced that they’re hitting the road in 2024 and will perform in 16 cities across the United States and Canada.

While music is timeless and age is nothing but a number, Mick Jagger is 80, Ron Wood is 76 and Keith Richards is 79.

These men know their audience.

AARP, formerly known as the American Association of Retired Persons, is the tour’s sponsor.

If that isn’t enough, AARP members will have access to presale starting Nov. 29, which begins at 10 a.m. local time and will conclude on Nov. 30 at 10 p.m. local time. There is an eight-ticket limit.

For those who aren’t AARP members or who don’t qualify, there’s still a presale opportunity for you here.

They should do a tour sponsored by Viagra. It could be called: sex-drugs and rock and roll.

More than Rock & Rollers, the Stones have always been capitalists, especially lead singer Mick Jagger.
As most of you here already know, Mick studied at the London School of Economics as a young man. He never did complete his degree requirements, but seeks out lucrative opportunities to rake in the cash. And why not?

Mick Taylor left the band before most of the human beings alive today on the planet were born, Bill Wyman retired decades ago, and Charlie Watts is dead. I'm impressed that Mick Jagger and Keith Richards are able to keep going, and I respect their energy, but I don't actually want to see them or hear their latest music.

In honor of their tour, I'll listen to "Moonlight Mile" next time I drive.

The Stones may well set some records for longevity in the entertainment business.

They have been popular in parts of seven decades — the ‘60s, the ‘70s, the ‘80s, the ‘90s, the 2000s, the 2010s, and now the 2020s.

It sure does sound like a joke, to say their tour is sponsored by AARP. But then, they have many fans in the age group of AARP membership. So there you go.

Mick Jagger was ugly at 20—I do not want to know what he looks like now.

;-)

I heard that the Stones are going to travel with a guest singer. This singer was picked for the sole purpose of making the rest of them look younger.
