Superman comics had Brainiac with a #12 AI. There was a war of humans verses the machines. The humans won and Brainiac was reprogrammed down to level 10. That was 58 years ago. AI will happen in one form or another. If not USA then China or Russia or Japan or North Korea or Iran. The USA got the A Bomb about 19 months before the Germans.
