Ukraine’s top MP and President Volodymyr Zelensky’s aide, David Arakhamia, has admitted that Ukraine wanted to end the war back in 2022 itself but it was the West that didn’t let it go ahead. “Russia’s goal was to put pressure on us so that we would take neutrality. This was the main thing for them. They were ready to end the war if we accepted neutrality, like Finland once did. And we would make a commitment that we will not join NATO. This was the main thing,” Arakhamia told TV Channel 1+1. He also revealed how former UK PM Boris Johnson had convinced Ukrainian officials to continue the war. Watch for more details.
The nuclear weapons were Soviet, not Ukrainian
Russian nationals manned the units at thd sites and the codes needed to activate the nucs as weapons…were always under control of Moscow
The collective West wanted those weapon systems out of the hands of the most corrupt republic on the planet ( Ukraine) so they wouldn’t end up on the black market
The saying goes if you shake hands with a Ukrainian, count your fingers to make sure you get them all back
in the first 2 months, nobody thought Ukraine could hold off Russia - hey, Russia was a superpower! What chance did tiny Ukraine have!!
That’s why Western countries refused to provide any help for the first 2 months ...
But Ukraine changed everybody’s thinking with their remarkable resistance!
People thought Russia would come in like the US went into Iraq, but that wasn't what happened. Russia invaded with a small force that was more akin to a peacekeeping invasion instead of that of an aggressor force.
The western countries had spent a lot to prop up Ukraine, they were just doing so in silent mode, because they didn't want anyone to know what they were really up to. When Donald Trump won the 2016 election, they had to go even further underground regarding the support they were providing to Ukraine, because he would have stopped that in its tracks.
This also blows a gigantic hole in your contention that Putin wants to reconstitute the USSR. If Ukraine would stop the hostilities in eastern Ukraine & promise to not join NATO, Russia would leave the remained of Ukraine intact. Had they followed through the peace agreement back then, they most likely would have retained Ukraine in its original configuration, with perhaps the exception of the Crimea.
While admitting the truth about the West scuttling the peace deal, Zelenski’s aide also stated that ‘no one’ in the Kiev regime currently, wants to stop the fighting.
Meanwhile its position in the Avdiivka cauldron is crumbling.
