I think you’re wrong.
Lots of good food and the Saugus Wings are Legendary.
Golden Banana still there, the other establishment is the Cabaret.
😉
Can’t believe it not them.
Waggers.
Kowloon is very good. I rate Dave Wong’s China Sails as better. There are a couple of places in downtown Boston that take the prizes for best Chinese food anywhere.
Saugus has always been an eater’s destination. Hilltop, Prince, Kowloon, Godfried’s, Border Cafe, ShoYu, Polcari’s, Santarpio’s, Weylu’s, Diamond Head, and Augustines, among many others over the years have contributed to my bulk. They even had the only Krispy Kreme in the region for a while.
Add a couple of gentlemen’s clubs and the Blue Star Bar and Saugus was worth the trip for this NH seacoast denizen.
Not all the time. The Kowloon sends in food to the Mass. studio on some VIP visiting days.
What does that have to do with him being in the Mass Studio.
That is payment for advertising, nothing to do with whether he is actually there.
From listening to the show, Howie tends to be living in Mass. during the Summer. He’s in the Mass. studio for the VIP shows.
At the moment, he is calling it in from Fla. as it’s Winter.
Never any excitement but the food (and the Scorpion Bowl or Fog Cutters) were always excellent.
For a time, they had a giant Weylus restaurant on top a size-able hill just south of the Kowloon's on Route 1. I went there often as well but it closed rather abruptly some years ago due to some sort of money laundering scheme.
Anyway, the Boston area was always excellent for Chinese food in general.
I miss that restaurant. But they took cash only because the owner was allegedly associated with the mob and used the place to launder money. But at one time, it was the highest grossing restaurant in the United States.
After high school proms, it was the place to take your date for a steak dinner. Mainly because they did not card. If you were 16 years old and ordered Heineken or a 7&7, they brought it right to your table even if you looked like Chachi from Happy Days. I do miss those innocent times.
