Ukraine Opts For More “Cowbell” As Desperation Sets In
Gateway Pundit ^

The last week of November is setting up to be a pivotal week in Ukraine’s futile effort to fend off the Russian military. Russia is clobbering Kiev and other parts of western Ukraine with drone hordes that are wreaking havoc on military depots and electric power nodes. In Kiev, the rift between President Zelensky and General Zaluzhny is widening, with rumors swirling that Zelensky will order a full mobilization of Ukraine that will draft 17 to 70 year old civilians, including women.

(snip)

Zelensky’s efforts to hide the staggering losses of Ukrainian troops took a major hit when Ukrainian TV Channel 1+1 reported that the AFU’s casualties so far were 1,126,652 KIAs and MIAs. Andrei Martyanov noted that Zelensky’s office moved quickly to force Channel 1+1 to retract the story, but the damage was done. The horse left the barn. Closing the barn door does not put the horse back in its stall.

That bolded number, if true, is jarring. It might go to explaining the split between military elements and Zelensky.

The people who “support Ukraine” have managed to bring about the destruction of an entire generation of Ukrainians.

MIA is mostly a mask for KIA
The number of deserters would be much lower
The number of POWs is unknown but thousands are training to fight for Russia

If that number is a fabrication, Ukraine should release the “real” numbers. (In war, helpful numbers get released, non-helpful numbers don’t.)

I find that bolded number hard to believe, but whatever it is, it’s devastatingly high. And I also feel for the Russian soldiers who don’t give a damn whether Putin controls Ukraine or not.

1,126,652 KIAs and MIAs!

The Biden crime family, John Kerry, Mitt Romney, Mitch McConnell, Victoria Nuland, Geoffrey Pyatt, Alexander Vindman, Nancy Pelosi, Lindsey Graham, Tim Scott, Adam Schiff, Mike Pence, Chris Christie, Chuck Schumer, Kevin McCarthy, Nikki Haley, Antony Blinken, Marie Yovanovich, Lloyd Austin, Richard Blumenthal, Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, Randi Weingarten, John Kirby, Condoleezza Rice, Hakeem Jeffries, Janet Yellen, John Cornyn and more should all be ashamed of themselves for encouraging this ridiculous war in the first place and opposing the peace talks in the second place.

How odd that Ukrainians are “desperate” to have their own borders, language and culture. Shockingly, they don’t want to have their families deported to Siberia again and their children die ever again in Moscow Kremlin torture chambers. Ukrainians fight and die on their feet while chairborne populist keyboard warriors demean their sacrifices. And that’s why they are so hated.

How many populists have died defending our southern border? Zero as far as I can tell. They do have fun watching Russian Nazis erase Ukrainian cities and mass murder Ukrainian civilians, though.

Ukrainians still have a country because they are willing to fight and die for it. Can American populists say the same?

Yeah, sure — as if Russian bombs and bullets had nothing to with Ukraine’s casualties.

and , since the Russians are the aggressor, by historical mil standards, if the Ukrainian have 1 mil causalities, they should have 3 mil.

Initially, the Russians were the aggressors, but now they are mostly in defensive positions holding on to the territory it has seized. The Ukrainian counteroffensive has been a huge disaster. They have suffered massive losses. It is one of the reasons for the schism between Zelensky and his generals. The counteroffensive was motivated by political reasons rather than military objectives. The US/NATO wanted a military victory to buttress flagging support for the war.

The 3 to 1 calculations are problematic. The largely conscript, untrained Ukrainian forces are no match for the Russian military. There are plenty of examples where the attacking forces suffered less casualties than the defenders, e.g., the attacking US forces against the Japanese in WWII.

i estimate current Ukr KIA at around 125,000. and of course, russian at 3x that.

125,000 would be horrific. The US lost around 500,000 in WWII. Based on population, the US is 8 times the size of Ukraine, the 125,000 would translate into a million deaths.

No way Russian KIAs are 375,000. In February 2023, launching the 2023 Military Balance, the IISS estimated Russian Ground Forces numbers had climbed to an estimated 550,000, including an estimated 100,000 conscripts and up to 300,000 mobilized personnel. This number should be set against the Central Intelligence Agency's estimate of 300,000 active duty before February 2022.

What is amazing is that the numbskull zeepers here continuing to insist Ukraine is winning. The dangerously delusional and threat to national security of this country and the West.

Many Americans have fought and died for this country. Many have served and live on crippled with horrible disabilities. In fact, they are being ignored and forgotten in favor of funding that shithole Ukraine that is the business of the Europeans, not ours.

You should be ashamed for that remark you rotten Zeeper troll.

They got their jollies.

It's like a sporting event for them - you even see them here on Free Republic, shouting down the voices of reason like soccer hooligans.
