It's a major betrayal that Biden ignores the people who lost everything in the Hawaii fires in order to send our tax paying dollars to the Ukraine. He sent residents $600 dollars and then forgot about them, not even providing the public with information on the way forward, how they were to receive services or even a shred of hope and compassion.

I thought it was odd that Brandon was relatively disinterested in the aftermath of the Acupulco Category 5 hurricane - that's our southern border, where Biden harvests as many 'future democrats' as possible and sends them to the US interior with money and housing unavailable to Americans. When the storm hit it created a major, immediate humanitarian crisis (no water, electricity, trapped citizens and tourists, impassible roads, limited medical access etc.) But only our southern n border gets the attention of the Biden 'gift machine.'

Not only did they vote for him. but they support some pretty crazy ideas and projects.

I wish they were smart enough to realize that they need to change their politics.

Ouch, if it did that to condos…would really hate to have that hit Myrtle Beach.

Andrew hit Miami Beach dead on. The damage to the waterfront high rises was minimal. I highly doubt the Mexican building standards are similar.

I am sick of the Weather Channel. It is 24/7 climate change propaganda. The maps used to be mostly green and yellow. Now they are all yellow, red and blue even though the depicted temperatures are in the 30s and 40s.

They harp on the extensive damage of a Mexican hurricane not being restored less than a month after the storm hit. (How long does it take to build a couple hundred miles of rail system in California? How long did it take to build where the World Trade Center once stood?)

Every stream that overflows in Bangladesh gets prime space on their website home page. Every multi-car accident spells the end of civilization.

I long for the days of Jeanetta Jones, Cheryl Lemke, Jill Brown, Marney Stanier and even Mark Mancuso.

At least there’s mostly commercials now and less time to proselytize.

Yep...I don’t watch the TV weather channels. Takes up too much time with the propaganda, fluff and sensationalism waiting for useful info. I just try to get as much data as possible from NOAA radio, the National Hurricane Center’s feed/website and Weather Underground.

After seeing the Acapulco high-rise drone footage, I did consider the probably lower Mexican building standards. Still don’t want to ever deal with a head-on CAT 5 in SC.

Andrew diddn’t hit Miami Beach, it hit Cutler Bay, which is south of the high rises you mentioned. It leveled Cutler Bay, even flattening cinder block homes and throwing vehicles.

When Wilma hit Pompano Beach, traveling across the state from the southwest, it intensified over land. One condo, two blocks from the beach, is comprised of two towers, about 35 stories each and spaced about 30 yards apart. The winds ripped between them creating a cyclone type vortex, which blew put all the windows and sucking furnishings out of the units. Both towers were determined to be uninhabitable. It took many years to recover and the special assessment to each owner caused many foreclosures and resales were very slow. For most owners it was a total loss

So i missed by a few miles.

My father-in-law lived in a high rise on Biscayne Blvd. He evacuated inland to a friend’s house near the Miami zoo. The friends house had nothing left standing but the bathroom they were sheltering in. The FIL’s condo on the 17th floor didn’t even have water damage.

My brother lived at 208 st. and Cutler road. Had to rescue him and family on Monday morning. He was out of his house 15 months and we had friends assisting on the rebuild.

He was in the midst of the mayhem.

I remember stories of neighborhoods that piled debris at the end of the streets and took guard shifts with weapons to fend off looters. National Guard came up, saw the neighbors, said “yep! Looks like y’all are good!” And drove off to the next area.
