Well, if that was their bag, Dad...

The two conquerors who changed the world were Alexander and Chinggis. Practically all others made their mark, and then after they died their effects became less and less until the time came that nothing they accomplished remained, a collection of Ozymandias-rulers.

That would not have been the first time Alexander the Pretty Alright was proclaimed divine. Egypt thought that he was divine as well. And his mommy hinted that Zeus was his daddy more then once.

Alexander wanted to be worshiped as a god. The Macedonians were not keen on the idea, the Greeks even less so.

Back over fifty years ago LIFE magazine had a great article on the influence of Alexander in the Middle East. They showed a photo of a jade head of Buddha that looked much like Alexander.
