Biden and nato ready to hang it up...
This is much worse than Dunkirk. This is a candidate for worst military debacle since the HMFIC of Tangut called Genghis Khan a sissy...
If it was such a military debacle Russia would have won the war within the first 36 hours.
Russia has won. They got what they came for and now they are just letting Zelensky keep sending his citizens into the grinder while inching away inch by inch..
Zelensky needs to try and keep it going for money and the fact that he is probably going to meet his maker sooner rather than later at the hands of his own people.
In other words, the only people that don’t know that Ukraine has no chance of winning back any territory and has lost the war the idiot zeepers here.
You can ask for peace now, bro, our bank accounts are overflowing. Sorry about the carnage.
I admire brave stand taken, but all of this was avoidable and basically a failure of Biden’s awful diplomatic incompetence. If an administration just said, we are going to ignore the world beyond our borders, even that would be better than Biden. For one thing, it would acknowledge the existence of borders.
In the meantime, Ukraine has lost nearly 500,000 dead. That small of population can't stand to lose that amount of their most healthy men.
Russia may have lost the same, but Russia's population is at least 10 times larger than Ukraine's.
Finally, say what you want about Putin, he's a bad man. But, Zelensky is a cross-dressing, Jew. He really isn't Ukrainian. He was installed. So be it.
It’s up to the Ukrainian people to decide. If the Ukrainian people throw in the towel, then it’s over. Of course, there will be some who refuse to give up; and thus, the war will continue, “by other means.” In which case, I’d not want to be a Russian coming out of a bar, alone; or a car full of Russians stopped at a stop light; or...well, you get the picture.
“In the meantime, Ukraine has lost nearly 500,000 dead.”
Military?
It’s like a mini WW1. Static with ineffective offensives and counteroffensives. The Ukes have managed to hold the lines for a long time, but there is no way to push Russia out. They could negotiate a peace deal. Too bad they didn’t do it a couple of years ago.
I wonder if Boris Johnson can smell the brimstone yet. Maybe he and Putin can keep each other company in the Pit.
Russia has ground an army as big and well armed as the one we faced in Vietnam in powder in less than two years. This after annexing 20% of Ukrainian territory.
No one with half a brain couldn't have seen this coming.
This proxy war has been the biggest debacle since Vietnam. We wanted this proxy war, ignorantly thinking we could win it. We prevent peace deals multiple times, including in Turkey in March of last year.
Yet, imbeciles like you continue to defend this disaster and are determined that Republicans and conservatives share in the blame for the decisions of the Biden regime.
Your statements are ridiculous.
With the Russians repelled and held at bay for 3 years it is not remotely “worse than Dunkirk”.
Quieting talking so later, Biden can declare he solved the issue and he is such a great leader right before the election.
Evil scumbags all of them
They just make this stuff up. Russia has incredible casualties as well.
“ They got what they came for”
What was that?
Ukraine’s problem goes beyond war casualties. The country’s population has declined from almost 52 million in 1990 to less than 37 million today. That’s a staggering demographic disaster no matter how you look at it.
Yes refugees left Russia still isn’t winning.
They can try.
But there has already been population movements out of Ukraine in the millions.
And there will be more leaving as the Russians annex more territory.
A lot of people have assumed that the ethnic and language mix in Ukraine will determine where the ceasefire front line ends up.
But that isn’t a fixed characteristic because of the mass population movements.
I think it is more likely that terrain analysis and military defensibility will define the Russian boundary - because they know that NATO will be facing them right across the gray zone.
And they will accept whatever terrorism/insurgency happens. Because militarily defensible terrain is essential to national survival.
In that case the eventual boundary will be either the Dnieper, or something like Ternopil and the Seret River.
“Take about moving the goalposts.”
I haven’t moved any goalposts, Ivan.
“Russia has ground an army as big and well armed as the one we faced in Vietnam in powder in less than two years.”
What’s this “we,” kemosabe?
In any event, the US was never defeated militarily in Vietnam. Our politicians — especially the Democrats, who controlled both houses of Congress — began to cut off the funding for the war. When the government tells the military it (the government) is no longer supporting the military; and that same government throws in the towel, the military is left with no options but to pack up and go home. Our politicians lost that war; not our military.
“This proxy war has been the biggest debacle since Vietnam.”
You know nothing about the US or its military. There was no US military debacle in Vietnam; and you insult everyone who served back then (and I was one of them).
“We wanted this proxy war, ignorantly thinking we could win it. We prevent peace deals multiple times, including in Turkey in March of last year.”
Put down your Russian talking points. You are embarrassing yourself.
“Yet, imbeciles like you continue to defend this disaster and are determined that Republicans and conservatives share in the blame for the decisions of the Biden regime.”
Nice try, Ivan.
See my post #8, Parmy.
Are you claiming that Ukraine has lost “nearly” 500,000 military KIA in this war?
Answer the question.
Wait, I thought Putin was near death.
It is unconscionable what these evil people have done. People like Biden, Lindsey Graham cheering on young to their brutal, worthless end. Rah, rah, send more money to Zelenskyy! Putin bad!
Simply unconscionable.
