I’ve always liked the canned corned beef - but some brands are much better than others.
We keep lots of it in our emergency stash.
My grandmother would fry the canned hash in bacon grease. That was good, too.
You could fry shoe leather in bacon grease and it will be delicious. Just saying.
The shelf life isn’t incredibly long. Check your dates
I’ve never tried it but from that picture it looks like a heart attack in a can.....and a massive one if fried in bacon grease 😏
Can you recommend some of the good brands? I’ve only tried once and did not like it, but I didn’t hate it either. I am open to trying again.
Never tried bacon grease, but I do like corned beef fried up with some mustard.
I like to chop up 1/2 a green pepper, 2 green onions and 1 medium potato; and stir in with a can of corned beef into a 12-inch hot greased fry pan. Then fry the mixture until there are bits of caramelized ingredients. Then, make little wells in the layer and put an egg in each. Then, with a lid on the fry pan, turn down the heat and let the eggs steam until the whites are solid and the yolks are still runny—sunny side up. I serve the egg with the layer of corn beef underneath, with sour cream and a dollop of ketchup.
Goya is excellent.
