Pickaxe Handles? I was trying to figure out what they were...I thought they might have been carrying fence posts or something to build some thing, but...pickaxe handles.

I guess everyone must have a supply of those in their trunk just ready and waiting in case you gotta do some pick-axing!

More likely, I bet the guy who lost part of his nose said, in an Irish brogue: "Come on me boys. Go get them pickaxe handles...we're gonna teach them a lesson."
