We must not blame the absent mother or father(s). We must blame the State for not being a good parent to these boys. /s
Is there a place for preemptive forced sterilizations in the US??

The shooter should get the electric chair or a roomful of nitrogen.

The family had been arguing over Christmas presents, with the 15-year-old saying his 14-year-old brother was getting more generous gifts than he was Give everybody oranges and be done with it.
No favoritism and no arguments
Nobody gots killed. .

Is there a place for preemptive forced sterilizations in the US?? Absolutely
If you apply for Aid to dependent children, sterilization should be part of the process.
If you want the state to feed your children, you should expect that the state does not want you to have more children.
Either that or you are consigning your children to a life time in the service of the state.
This was the way of the world in ancient times.
An indigent woman could take a child that she could not care for to the gates of a monastery and leave it. The monks would care for it and the child would serve the monks for his care and would eventually become a monk.
