And mostly we're conservatives who live fairly safely away from cities, which will quickly self-destruct in a catastrophe.

Just make sure you are well-armed, when those city folk head your way.

We made it through millions and millions of years without electricity... We can live without it.

For sure.

This is New Hampshire, where even some democrats love their guns and object to gun control.

Maybe it won’t be exactly like this but it would be wise at least to plan for the collapse of the civilization we know. It’s already happening in the cities.

Wish it would hurry it up.

Seems preferable to the alternate direction we are allowing ourselves to be pushed toward.

“The Sun Could Wipe Us Out”

So could the moon. And an asteroid as well. Several volcanoes world-wide could erupt at once and cause an actual global cooling that would push the world into a famine. Millions would die. Earthquakes could strike across the globe causing tsunamis and devastation for multiple major cities and in addition block travel and commerce for millions. Many of those millions would die.

There are all types of natural disasters that could strike. However, I do not fear those possibilities near as much as I fear the harm evil government actors could cause as they search for more money, control, and power.

"While there might be a major disruption recovery wouldn’t take more than six months."

Six months of is an eternity when one's neighbors are cannibalizing one another.

So our science incompetent White House clown show pushes electric cars that use batteries whose production pollutes the third world, charged by an inadequate and vulnerable electric grid, the same grid that’s powered with mostly carbon-based power (and always will be). And those of us with even a mid-century fifth grade science background have long known of the grid’s susceptibility to EMP, which could come from the sun...or nukes. Gads, I hate these guys, and I to pay big bucks to personally witness their execution once the population comes to their senses and does the right thing.

Summer without air-conditioning could be rough in cities like Phoenix and Houston.

A high altitude nuclear burst over central US wold take out 70% of the grid. Another over DC and one over central California would take out the rest. 80-90% of the population would die within 4 months.

God’s written word is very clear how the end of the age occurs, for some Peace, I recommend reading the Bible, you will know how it all ends.

That isn’t the way life is.

Living in Houston when houses and porches and life were designed for no air conditiong and you could sleep and live with all your windows open and a screen door only and ice men delivering ice and ice cold watermelon stands everywhere serving watermelon by the slice and all the other ways of coping with the heat and humidity, are not the situation today.

Living in an apartment with almost zero air movement and today’s morality when it comes to the population that would make you not want to leave the windows and front door open at night and the concrete heat sinks that today’s cities are make for a huge difference, apartments don’t even have screen doors in that mosquito infested city.

The way that the world is going, God’s wrath is more likely to destroy this planet than any other cause. I think fearing Him is the thing to do.
