This was JP's first public outing in quite a while, doing Rumble at the RRHOF induction for Link Wray. Page also gave the induction remarks although it's not shown here. Wray was one of Page's heroes and I think this was a great tribute.

People will argue about the best guitarist of all time for eternity yet when you look at the complete package; musician, composer, songwriter, arranger, producer, performer- few match Pagey

And if Epstein and Clinton were perverts, meet Jimmy Page.

The music I grew up with.

Surf music, most all of them.

Beach boyz were a joke, along with Jan and Dean. Poseurs.

Getting to see Link Wray in an outdoor mountain hovel( Chateau Liberte, Santa Cruz Mountains) surrounded by a bundle of biker clubs and etc was awesome.

He put on a great show, full rumble. I think that was 1972 or 1973.

Jimmy Page. I saw him playing guitar with the Yardbirds and Jeff Beck in 1966. They both played lead guitar only a few months in that band. I was lucky to see the last show Jeff Beck played with that band.

JP was such a great composer, session player and musician.

But this? Sad. I presume he can still play and just wanted to do the tune. High School out of tune garage band stuff. No matter. He has nothing left to prove. He has basically been retired since LZ broke up in 1980.

Steve Van Zandt (Silvio Dante on The Sopranos) called it “The soundtrack to juvenile delinquency”.

It was the only instrumental to be banned from radio.

That was an annoying jumble of sound; not much in the way of music.
