After the 2020 model year, GM downsized the turbo engine option in this line (Equinox, Terrain, etc.) from a 2.0L L4 to a 1.5L L4. At the rate they are going, hamsters in a wheel will be the next downsize.

“Assembled in Mexico.”

Is that different from “Assembled by Mexicans” in Texas?

Car mechanic (and YouTuber) Scotty Kilmer talks about that. Be very wary of any vehicle made in Mexico. The quality control just isn’t there.

Kilmer is often overly dramatic. But I think I’ll take his advice on this.

Nope, not for me. Ugly, boring (like most new vehicles).

2015 AWD LT — NO TURBO— only issue is the RF pressure sensor died

buyer ordered remote start and heated seats not in the LT package added as options, and the dealer missed it when i bought it or would have tried to charge more...

$42,000. That seems high for a station wagon.

I like Scotty Kilmer. His car advice is usually sound, and entertaining. And, yes. His video titles border on clickbait. That used to bother me. But now eh, I just expect it.

“Terrible news for…”
“This is the end for…”
“You’re stupid if…”

A lot of manufactures are using three cylinder engines including Chevy, Nissan, Mini, Mitsu and and Toyota has the Corolla GR three cylinder, 300HP! One would think these engines are pretty busy / rough, but I don’t know for sure.

“RF pressure sensor died”

What did you pay to have that fixed? One died on my wife’s ten year old small Mercedes SUV and the repair was over $600. I couldn’t believe it.

30 years in the car business.

Worked part time for a used car lot last couple of years that sold older higher mile cars.

Trust me. You don’t want to buy an Equinox. I’ll almost say, no chevy products period. Transmissions, overheating, engine failures, trim pieces falling of..least of problems. Start/stop problems.....I could go on. The old dreaded “ghost in the machine” where no one could figure out why they would just cut off while driving.....friggin’ nightmare.

“That seems high for a station wagon.”

It was interesting how the industry sold people a station wagon was an SUV.

Small displacement with high boost = short engine life.

It’s high end German. High costs are a feature to them.

Yep. Lots of bad customer feedback on GMs. My old 1998 3/4 ton has been reliable. But those days are long past. Like Kodak and Black & Decker. Sell the crappiest shyt possible is GM’s watchword.
