Julianna Margulies, Greg Berlanti, Mayim Bialik Among 260 Signatories of Letter to Film Academy Critiquing Jewish Exclusion from Diversity Standards

Amid Israel's ongoing war with Hamas, Jewish entertainment figures have come together to issue an open letter to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences criticizing their exclusion from being specified as an underrepresented group.

"An inclusion effort that excludes Jews is both steeped in and misunderstands antisemitism," reads the letter, organized by the group Jew in the City's Hollywood Bureau for Jewish Representation. "Jewish people being excluded from the Motion Picture Academy's Representation and Inclusion Standards is discriminating against a protected class by invalidating their historic and genetic identity."

These Jews trying to get their Victimhood Card back. Are these people serious with the claim Jews are underrepresented" in Hollywood? I wonder what the Jewish founders of Hollywood would think of these whiners?

“Earlier this week, Marlon Brando met with Jewish leaders to apologize for comments he made on Larry King Live, among them that “Hollywood is run by Jews.” The Jewish leaders accepted the actor’s apology and announced that Brando is now free to work again.”

Jews are of course not underrepresented in Hollywood. But I applaud the signatories of this letter anyway. If the Film Academy wants to play racial games, anything that gums up the process is okay with me.

I was always under the impression that heterosexual men were the most underrepresented minority in Hollywood.

Running studios is one thing. Being excluded for a key grip job or any other job in the industry is an entirely different thing.

From the beginning of Hollywood in all the Westerns both movies and TV and in the modern horror movies where the cannibal Christians listen to radio preachers shouting about Jesus in-between torturing and eating the city folk young people whose cars break down in their rural areas, the one bible scripture quoted by Christians in films for 120 years is “an eye for an eye”.

I have tried to figure that out.

MASCULINE heterosexual men are the very most underrepresented. just watching the commercials one wouldn’t know they even exist.

Excellent point. I took another look at the article. They mention film crews.

The whole thing is ridiculous. Don’t hire based on experience and skill. Hire so as many boxes as possible get checked off. Might as well add a Jewish box, especially given the current environment.

“diversity”

I’d like my squirrels to do something other than dig through the dirt of my potted plants.

A movie with squirrels being bad would not require paying millions to an actor or actress.

Right on the mark. There isn’t a show or ad on TV that isn’t loaded with LGBTQrstuvwxyz.

They could film movies in Vietnam and then modify the heads and voices by computer program for various markets.

It would be cheaper than LA, Vancouver, Atlanta and even Mumbai.

It must frost the hell out of them that you can't sell movies without such actors and strong feminine heterosexual women.

For some reason this reminds me of Blacks in the NBA complaining there are not enough Black owners. In reverse.

And there are not enough Germans brewmasters, French who make vintners or Italians Chefs.

Hogan’s Heroes was very diverse.

However, Klink, Schultz and Burkhalter were played by Jewish actors.

Might as well add a Jewish box

I am certainly in favor of them adding a "Jewish" box - as long as they also include a "Belgian" box, a "Norwegian" box, a "Finnish" box...

Or, alternatively, they could simply include an additional category: Besides "in front of the camera," "film crew," "advertising and promotion," they should also have "money."

The overwhelming Jewish representation in that category would guarantee a sure win, every time!

However, Klink, Schultz and Burkhalter were played by Jewish actors.

So was Robert Clary (who played "Corporal LeBeau"). He even had the tattoo on his arm to prove it (which is why he was always shown with long sleeves, I'm told).

Born in 1926 in Paris, France, Clary was the youngest of 14 children, 10 of whom died in the Holocaust. His parents, Baila and Moishe Widerman, were Polish Jewish immigrants. - Wikipedia

How about a documentary? 🐿

Daylight Robbery 1 and 2

Much better than anything Hollyweird has been churning out.
