Interesting that the armchair warriors at Rand think that keeping an unwinnable ( for Ukraine) war going …at the cost of Ukrainian and Russian lives…is both profitable for western MIC and will wear out the support of the Russian people for Putin due to personnel and economic losses.

These wunderkind strategists try to compare Russian popular disaffection with Afghanistan ( where Empires go to die) ….. with Russian feelings about Crimea and Russian ethnics under attack by Kiev in eastern Ukraine. Totally different game.

Plus Afghanistan never threatened Russia by lobbing drones and missiles at Russian bases and cities, maintained NATO aspirations, allowed US biolabs to be built on their territory, or stalked and assassinated Russians in Russia, like Daria Dugina. Nor did the sandal jihadis worship WW2 nazi heroes, maintain units dedicated to nazi supremacist national beliefs, and raise their children to hate Russia as an inferior race and civilization.
