Daniel “Danica” Roem, the first “transgender” state representative in U.S. history, won election to a new office last November and shared in a recent interview his intention to be sworn into the Virginia Senate with his hand on a heavy metal album rather than the Bible, as is tradition.
Roem, a male Democrat who identifies as a woman, defeated incumbent Republican Bob Marshall for his seat in the Virginia House of Delegates in 2017, an upset celebrated by LGBT activists. Last fall, Roem won his race to move on to the state Senate.
In an interview published on Tuesday by LGBTQ Nation, Roem, formerly a singer in a “death metal” band, shared, “I will be getting sworn in on a 1988 vinyl copy” of his favorite Metallica album, And Justice For All.
Roem was sworn in the next day, albeit without sharing details about the ceremony itself.
Virginia law says that “persons being sworn for any purpose may be required to place their hand on the Holy Bible” (emphasis added). It is a longstanding tradition in America that new officeholders recite their oaths of office while placing one hand on a Bible and adding “so help me God” if they so choose. Neither detail is usually mandatory, however, and officeholders of non-Christian faiths or no faith are generally permitted to substitute a different book…

The moral fiber of the USA continues to rot. When people say “God bless America” I think why would He?
Whoever was supposed to swear Roem in should have refused to do it.
But I guess I’m asking too much. Use a Metallica album today. Maybe use a hubcap or a pizza box tomorrow. Anything goes in this shiny, new progressive America.

The voters who put him in office are mocking God as well. They knew what they were electing.
The solution is simple. Eliminate the Bible from all swearing-in ceremonies.
Do it before they all put their hand on the Koran.
Tell us about the district which loved this him/her so much they continue to elect him/her into office. The state senator tells us about the people who put him/her into office. Who are they???

Why did we take our oaths of office over a Bible in the first place? Because the Bible describes the purpose of an oath... blessings for keeping your word and curses in failure. In the oath, you ask God to help you be faithful to your word... “so help me, God!” Do not take an oath lightly!
There is no such teaching the Quran... just the opposite. Lying is encouraged if it furthers the cause of submission of the infidel.
All of these other props and garbage are pure nonsense. They convey nothing except a lack of understanding of the purpose of an oath... and no intent to fidelity. It makes a mockery of the oath itself... and few today have the slightest intent to fulfill their obligations anyway.

This nation really has fallen down some sort of demon-possessed rabbit hole. There’ve always been criminals and sexual perverts and predators, but they were roundly condemned and punished when caught. Now we’re obliged to celebrate them. We’ve jumped the moral shark. I’m not a believer myself, but it’s hard even to describe our current state without using biblical terms!
Metallica are satanists. That says it all.
Democrats must be really proud of “Danica.”
