At least 33 Canadian churches have burned to the ground since May 2021. So far, 24 are confirmed arsons

WARNING: This story contains distressing details. (CBC Warning)

In a barren field of sagebrush alongside a road through the Osoyoos Indian Band, Chief Clarence Louie stands atop a concrete pad and surveys the rubble in front of him.

This used to be the front entrance to St. Gregory's, the simple wooden church that hosted countless community celebrations, dinners and religious services, on the reserve just north of the Canada-U.S. border in central B.C.

The church had stood for more than one hundred years as a symbol of the Catholic faith, but on June 21, 2021, someone burned it to the ground.

Louie recalled being forced to go to the church as a child to learn the word of God. He didn't like it.

"We were heathens, right?" he said from the church steps. "We were savages. We had to come in here and have the white man save our souls. That's what we were taught."

While he doesn't hide his contempt for Catholicism, he's angry that someone torched St. Gregory's, which was the second church that burned that night. Hours earlier, someone also set fire to the Sacred Heart Church on the Penticton Indian Band about 40 kilometres north of Osoyoos.

The #1 suspects in the Canadian church arsons are the RCMP and the CSIS.

If these were synagogues or mosques, the media would treat it as a major story.

The Muslims would have just removed their heads, killed their fathers, andraped their mothers and sisters as they kept them for sex slaves.

Do they have any suspects in these arson fires?

I would think you start with victims of abuse. Some adult who was diddled by a priest when he was a little kid. I say he because most arsonists are men.

FYI, I was raised Catholic. I still attend church most Sundays.

The CBC created the most vile, horrible blood libel since Adolf Hitler against the Catholic Church, rallying First Nations to hate the Church, and now the Church is suffering violence against it. Go figure.

(ICYMI: There were allegations of thousands of babies in unmarked graves, killed by the Church. There were no such graves.)

From the linked article, “To burn things down is not our way,” Perry Bellegarde said in July 2021. At the time, he was the National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations. “Our way is to build relationships and come together.”

I don’t think history bears this out. It seems making sure people are ignorant of their culture’s own history is not limited to those of European descent.

Yep. It is also true that even graves that were originally marked may lose such when all that were simple wooden crosses or small stone mounds.

In retaliation for all those mass graves in which NO BODIES were found. Only rocks and tree roots.

But some people just will not give up their belief in bodies that are not there.

Armed, if not deputized guards, would help stop some of this. If the guard is inside the building, any arson would become a much more penalty serious charge and the guard could use deadly force to protect himself.

Shoot to kill would take on a much more serious meaning.

"(ICYMI: There were allegations of thousands of babies in unmarked graves, killed by the Church. There were no such graves.)"

First Nation people and the Canadian media don't need to produce graves and remains. They just repeat the words "ground-penetrating radar" and "anomalies".

"If these were synagogues or mosques, the media would treat it as a major story."

If ONE mosque or synagogue was destroyed by arson, it would be a major story and every politician would be lamenting the evils of Islamophobia or anti-Semitism and telling the victims that the community shared their pain and outrage. But the fact that more than two dozen Christian churches are torched gets barely a passing mention speaks volumes about the rabid anti-Christian spirit that permeates our media.

One reason this isn't a major story is the people committing arson.

It's the First Nation people. The government and media can't call them out because they believe their anger and arson are justified.
