I miss the fish&chips in Victoria, and also a shop nearby Green Lake in Seattle, where I could barely afford it even then as a UW student.

My wife worked on Vancouver Island before we married, and would go into Victoria. Later, when we adopted in Seattle, she marveled that they batter the fish in Victoria, but bread it in Seattle (we went to some famous "Keep Clam") place. In Canada, even the McDonald's have malt vinegar packets for the filet o'Fish and fries.
