Disabled people are “very concerned” that assisted dying is being considered when they are lacking many supports needed to live full lives, an Oireachtas committee has heard.
An activist warned the Joint Committee on Assisted Dying that it “could lead to disabled people making choices where, through lack of supports, they begin to view themselves as a ‘burden’”.
Peter Kearns is a disabled activist, artist and academic, and the development officer with the Independent Living Movement Ireland.
”Give us a chance to have a bit of a life before the other bit comes upon us,” he appealed to the committee.
Disabled people have to contend with “a narrative your life is not as valued as a non-disabled citizen”, he said. …

Wasn’t there some European government back in the 1930’s that would euthanize children and adults with disabilities? For some reason they stopped doing this in 1945.
Because *right to die* becomes duty to die, which translates into mandatory to die.
They referred to them as “useless eaters” a phrase recently said by a WEF member. Once socialists firm up their grip on power, they start eliminating the non-productive members of society.
In another headline, from the 1930’s: “Jews express concern over Nuremberg laws”.
Back when the subject of euthanasia frist started coming up, I read about a poll. Younger, richer people were all for it. Poorer older people not so much, because they understoid that one can’t always control one’s life and that they would probably feel the pressure to accept MAD if it were an option.
