I would appreciate it if Freepers could share their experience with and/or opinion of GoFundMe. I have a friend who has just lost his job due to a freak, sudden health condition and he will probably lose his house. He has worked for his employer for over 20 years and lost he ability to walk last year due to FND (Functional Neurological Disorder).
I have never done GOFundMe before. Is there any alternative that is better? Appreciate your advice.
Give Send Go is a Christian alternative.

GoFundMe has been a viable option for a lot of people, and I have used it myself. But the last few years, they have really put the press on towards “woke” and anti-Conservative leanings.
I’ve heard some good things from GiveButter and Donorbox. But have not used either.
Use Give Send Go, they are a company much like Rumble, NO BOWING DOWN to ANYTHING woke!!
GoFundMe has a HISTORY OF REMOVING patriot charities.
I was going to say “givesendgo” as well. As far as I know, they don’t meddle in things the way or extent that “gofundme” does.
When I think of GFM I think of GFY.
They shut down pro-Christian efforts.

No reason he can’t use both. I assume they reach different audiences. Use both to maximize income.
Why don’t you just mail or give him a check. Bypass the middleman.

GoFundMe took my donation and apparently gave it to some other entity I didn’t authorize.
They didn’t like the person I funded, and the contract says they can do it.
The funds never got to this person.
Check all the rules carefully. Some of them require you to reach your pre-set goal in a set time frame and if you do not, they return the money to the donors.
That is horribly unethical.
Because by using them, you're getting donations you would not otherwise get. They're only taking a cut.
If someone offered you a million dollars, provided 5% goes to some leftist organization, would you turn down the money?
I would use a quality site ONLY, like givesendgo.org

Is your friend eligible for long term disability thru his employer?
He can also check out Social Security Disability - that’ll take awhile but they will pay back to application date.
Give send go is much better than Go fund me. Don’t forget to send the link to all friends.
