Remove it. So what? The left has been removing statues that hurt their widdle feewings for a few years now. They always go on about the Statue of Liberty as if it would really shut us up to even consider removing it. I say let them remove it if they promise to then STFU. Better yet, keep it, and tell them to STFU anyway.

It’s because “we’re not living up to its promises”. IOW, the socialist “immigrant” ode on the base.
Problem is the statue was specifically created to celebrate AMERICA and its INDEPENDENCE, its FIGHT for FREEDOM WON.
Yes, it was inspiring to immigrants, but that was not the purpose - it was to celebrate America, not the people moving here. Welcoming, yes, but declarative that this is a great place.
I’m with you. After all, the statue represents the United States and therefore it represents world slavery and “colonialism”. It’s gotta go to the Founding Fathers and American heroes statues junk heap.
