Sounds like super over-hyped.

No one ever denied there were civilizations here before Europeans arrived. But they say we’ll have to abandon our “Eurocentric” view of history?

I am sure it was a really nice place before the barbarian hordes of monkeys and apes took over.

LIDAR imaging revealed a sophisticated letter grouping on one of the buildings, translated to read “¡LGB...FJB!”

Lead researcher Stephen Rostain of the National Center for Scientific Research in France told the BBC, “This is older than any other site we know in the Amazon. We have a Eurocentric view of civilization, but this shows we have to change our idea about what is culture and civilization.”

What a stupid thing for a professional in the field to say, but I guess in the Age of Woke, retards have free reign. Yes, schools in the West emphasized a eurocentric view because that was our own story, but the context of the discussion was always the rise of civilization in China, the Indus Valley, Mesopotamia and Egypt while the ancestral European tribes were still painting themselves blue, running naked into battle and headhunting as perfect savages. Northern Europe was a latecomer to the civilization game. Heck, Greece was a latecomer. Prior to the Age of Woke, no one ever pretended otherwise.

I love it. The “experts” don’t really know very much. And then much of what they say they is wrong.
Rinse and repeat.

Not America.

It’s cool. But when I hear “American history”, my mind doesn’t go to the Amazon River. Although, technically is in in an American continent.

Never trust plants. Plants have a long history of doing this sort of thing.

The civilizations in the middle east precede that one by at least 1500 years.

Not too surprising that it is in that area. America around the equator has a great climate, you can grow a lot of stuff year round very quickly. Daylight is the same year round, temps 75 at night 90 during the day, plenty of rain. An ocean nearby helps when you need fish.
