Puns aside for once, Uranus and Neptune are both fascinating “ice giants” about which little is yet understood. Both bear signs of some disturbance to the solar system that likely produced the Late Heavy Bombardment era which left so many craters on the planets in the inner solar system, and possibly gave earth its oceans. Whatever happened tilted Uranus on its side and left Neptune with a giant moon in a retrograde orbit.
At this point, I am sure that if some scientist proposes a
“study of global warming impact, on Uranus”...
they will instantly get funded..
My question is: Why are they both a relatively uniform blue, while Saturn and Jupiter are multicolored and banded?..................
I would welcome another probe to the planet. It would be worth it to study it in depth. The whole “90deg axis tilt” is weird.
Thank you for clearing that up. It’s been bothering me for ages.
