There’s a lot more of this going on than most people realize. We know of 2 “throuples” ourselves.
Part of it is because single men, and I use the term very loosely, aren’t worth a tinkers damn these days. They have no idea how to treat a lady and they don’t care to learn. None of them know how to be men, let alone how to be a gentleman.
Open a door? Pull out a chair? Help with a coat? Forget about it.
Then there is the state of the economy to be considered. It’s much easier for 3 people to afford a house, share expenses, and the like.
So it’s no wonder that “alternative lifestyles” are on the rise.

I tried opening a door for a lady at a government office in Washington DC about 10 years ago. She just rolled her eyes.
I used to take the train into a city near me (don’t do it anymore) but I would offer my seat to a woman.
You would think I threatened to rape them by the reaction.
I am not a particularly threatening looking guy, and I had my wife with me, but people got a scalded cat look.
Recently, my wife and I were having dinner up in Northern Maine, and when we came out, I went over and opened the car door for her. As I walked back around to my car, I heard a car horn honk, and look up to see an 18 wheeler with an older man and woman in it, grinning widely and giving me a thumbs up...
So...it isn’t dead for everyone!
