I’m of two minds here. On one hand it’s important to have more means of communication that aren’t locked into the internet.
On the other, ATSC3 isn’t that. From the beginning it was designed to use and need an internet connection both for authentication and for viewer tracking, neither of which are goals consistent with freedom.
Also, with content of people’s choice available, like this or YT or Rumble and streaming whatever, the era of “programming” where content occurs on a set schedule to be viewed at the times and order of TV producers’ direction is done.
Sure it was a shared culture of a sort in that people could talk about their Sunday or Tuesday shows but only an artificial one driven by consumerism and the overt and covert agenda of a few.

Internet is not required to receive ATSC 3 OTA.
