For context, social workers removed a child from the home of his parents, and tried to find a state willing to perform sex changes. NBC reported that "Republican Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte told The National Desk (TND) Monday state officials acted within their legal limitations by removing a child from parents who objected to their transitioning gender identity."
From NBC's coverage, Gianforte said, "“Upon hearing recent allegations related to a child welfare case, I asked Lieutenant Governor Kristen Juras – an experienced attorney, constitutional conservative, mother, and grandmother – to review it," Gov. Gianforte said. "Consulting with the director of DPHHS and personally examining case documents, Lieutenant Governor Juras has concluded that DPHHS and the court have followed state policy and law in their handling of this tragic case."
For the way he said this, Gianforte seems to be asserting he believes his hands are tied, despite the fact that Montana prohibits sex-change procedures, forcing his own state workers to shop around to other states to find someone who will do the procedure. (Reportedly, they took the kid to Wyoming, and no-one there would do it; it's unclear if the child has had reassignment.)
Gianforte is simply nullifying state law by executive fiat. That's hardly very conservative. While even some FReepers defended the governor for merely following the law, there's an obvious reason to doubt the sincerity of Giantforte, besides the obvious fact that the state in fact prohibits the procedure:
Gianforte opposed the law. Bitterly. See his son is LGBTQ (wonder how that happened), and has convinced Gianforte that any attempt to limit transgendering children will somehow harm HIS rights.

David, 32, sat down in the governor’s office on March 27 with a prepared statement about legislation affecting transgender Montanans and the LGBTQ+ community generally, to which David says he belongs. He wanted to talk about Senate Bill 99, a ban on gender-affirming health care for minors; Senate Bill 458, a bill to define sex as strictly binary in Montana code; and House Bill 359, a ban on drag performances in many public spaces. Sitting across from his father in the governor’s office, with Gianforte’s top health adviser present, David said, he read his printed statement out loud.

Funny how when someone ignores a law, he's a criminal, but when someone destroys the law in order to ignore the law, he's allowed to continue to serve as governor.
I'll put it this simply: Any legistlator who refuses to impeach Gianforte is an insurrectionist.

If they let this farce stand, then the state agencies of every state can shop for whatever jurisdiction they want to find laws that suit them. When Montana outlawed gender reassignment mutilation I am sure they never imagined a state agency would take a child to another state to get medically butchered when they made it illegal in Montana.

I believe the kid who was sent to Wyoming was only 14 and initially the parents had no idea where their kid even went and that the kid was taken out of state.
Should be kidnapping at the very least.

This governor should be impeached immediately. I don’t care if he was 100% on all other issues if you allow someone’s child to be kidnapped and mutilated you are done to me. Impeach any state representatives that fail to vote to impeach or convict him as well. Arrest all members of CPS that facilitated this crime as well and charge them with kidnapping, mayhem and attempted murder.
Untouchable.

Thats the problem there and elsewhere. They break, bend or just ignore the law and no one is prosecuted fired or jailed when they do.
And the government does nothing to prevent the mayhem.

Not a completely accurate portrayal of the situation. Apparently, this involves a gender-confused child who was having suicidal ideation. The child was placed in the hospital, and they looked for an in-patient psychiatric facility for the child. The parents were in agreement with this course of action up to this point. There were no beds available at any facility in Montana, but one was available in Wyoming. The parents refused to take the child there because Wyoming does not have laws preventing “transitioning” minors. However, because the child had already been diagnosed as suicidal and in need of in-patient care, the parent’s refusal to provide for that care caused the state to step in. The child was not taken in order to facilitate a sex change, but to provide psychiatric care for suicidal ideation. The facility in Wyoming was not chosen to provide “gender-affirming” care, but because that was the closest psychiatric facility with a bed available.
Since the child is now in the custody of the state of Montana, they have control over the course of care. Since Montana has laws against transitioning minors, they should not allow the hospital in Wyoming to take any steps in that direction. If they DO allow that, THEN the anger people are expressing would be justified.
