gonna have to check that one out. Whip It is a classic tune with a classic vid.

In that vein, we should mention the incredible Weird Al Yankovic, whom Devo admired. Esp. w/r/t Dare to Be Stupid; but for my money Weird Al is a Prophet. A wonder, to be sure, but not a one-hit one. Probably deserves his own thread. Or universe.

Dare to Be Stupid

"Dare to Be Stupid" is amazing. He out-DEVOs DEVO, and DEVO admitted it.

I didn’t nominate that song—someone else mentioned “2525” as if it were a 1970s song. I agree it’s an interesting song (if not particularly logical). It came out about the same time as the first moon landing & moon walk by Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin.

No, no, noooo … why oh why did you did you have to go there?!? Ahhhhhh. Hahaha… Now I’ll never get that song to stop playing in my head!

And now come the flashbacks to roller skating on Saturday nights as a kid and that song playing over and over and over again as we all went around and around and around.

Billy Don’t Be a Hero, along with Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves and Charley Pride’s version of Kaw-Liga were the roller rink favorites and now I’ll be hearing them in my head all night until I go to bed, too.

Thanks … lol
