The Rats will pull the plug on Boyle if they think he’ll lose in November. Which isn’t likely, but the district is only D+7 which for a state-level district is positively marginal, though it still leans clearly to the left.
However, the district is not some upscale country-club liberal area. It’s much more middle class/working class.
This is exactly the type of semi-suburban district which swung towards Trump in 2016. If it does anything like that again, and if the Keystone Kopz PAGOP doesn’t completely punt on this race (don’t hold your breath), there’s a plausible chance of an upset.
In a state where the Rats currently control the state House by ONE SEAT — and are poised to go for the sweep of PA state government by seizing the state Senate in November. Taking back the House is critical if that happens.
