A Tennessee elementary school principal had tears streaming down her face as she was booked for allegedly covering up a student-teacher assault at her school.
Fabre Ford, the principal of Southwest Elementary School in Fayette County, Tennessee, was arrested after allegedly withholding information about a fourth-grade student attacking a teacher with a Stanley Cup.
According to deputies, fifth-grade social studies teacher Demetrious Bradley was left concussed after the child battered him with the large metal cup.
After Ford allegedly blocked an internal school investigation into the attack and told people not to cooperate, she was arrested and charged with tampering with or fabricating evidence in the investigation of an aggravated assault in a school. The incident unfolded on February 2, when the fourth grader was removed from his class and sent to Bradley's class because he had been 'acting out.'
When Bradley went to talk to the young student, he later told a school resource officer, Randy Collins, that the child started slapping his hands.
The student then picked up a heavy metal Stanley Cup and started beating Bradley across the face with it, striking him multiple times on the jaw.
Collins wrote in a primary report on the incident that Bradley said the Stanley Cup also caught him across the temple, which left him 'seeing stars.'
He then wrapped his arms around the student to keep him from being struck again, but slipped on water spilled from the cup and the student ran off.

The article says 4th grade student… I think the headline is wrong.
Daily Mail doesn’t understand our school system.
When they say 4 in the headline, they must mean 4th grade as the article indicates. Not a 4 year old.

The poor principal. Had she reported the assault against “Demetrious”, she would instantly be labeled a racist, then fired, then sued.
Since she followed school policy by letting the privileged class get away with this beating..... She gets arrested.

This is one smart thug if he is 4 years old and in 4th grade.
Pretty sure the Stanley Cup is a hockey championship trophy. There does appear to be a product line known as Stanley Tumblers, however.
Just one problem in the writing of this “journalist.”
This story struck me as odd as the kid and the teacher would have had to have travelled to the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto in order for the kid to hit the teacher with a “Stanley Cup”. And probably because the kid wasn’t allowed to have a selfie with the Cup taken while at the museum.

So, which is it? Him or her?
And these stories about Stanley Cup thefts and abuses should refer to the item as a Stanley cup. Not Stanley Cup...as in Lord Stanley's Cup. Big difference.
Oh wait. Demetrious was the beatee. No word on the race of the beater. But I can guess.
The Predators have never won The Stanley Cup.
