Tucker Carlson Says Trip to Russian Grocery Store Has ‘Radicalized’ Him Against US Leaders: ‘Legitimately Angry’
The Wrap- Yahoo Entertainment ^ | 2/15/2024 | Josh Dickey

Tucker Carlson says he went “from amused to legitimately angry” at U.S. political leaders during a recent trip to a Moscow grocery store, where the independent conservative journalist and his crew guessed that a cart full of food would cost about the equivalent of $400 in American dollars – and it came in around a hundred bucks.

“Coming to a Russian grocery store, the ‘heart of evil,’ and seeing what things cost and how they live, it will radicalize you against our leaders,” Carlson said in the video shot on-site as he shopped for eggs, bread, wine and other staples. “That’s how I feel, anyway, radicalized. We’re not making any of this up, by the way. At all.”

-snip-

“So we were guessing what this would cost,” Carlson said as he puts his items on the belt. “Everybody [in the crew] is from the United States … and we didn’t pay any attention to cost, we just put in the cart what we would actually eat over a week. We all [guessed] around $400 bucks. It was $104 U.S. here. And that’s when you start to realize that ideology doesn’t matter as much as you thought.”

You need to clue Tucker in on the ongoing cucumber, egg and banana catastrophe in Russia. If Z can only hang on long enough, the Russian people will revolt over the price of cucumbers. Har, Har, Har!

US has some of the highest food costs in the world. (Not the highest) but insanely higher than most western nations

What does that mean? Russia. Putin. Hillary. Russia. Putin. Obama. Russia. Putin. Biden. That’s closer to the truth.

Anyone who reads that should know Tucker Carlson is a kook at best.
He says ideology doesn’t matter because they had cheaper groceries.

Besides that being a totally misguided statement,

He doesn’t understand that PRICES AND SALARIES ARE LOWER IN EVERY LESS PROSPEROUS NATION ON THIS EARTH.

Whether or not we’re happy about the recent inflation, it’s always been true you could take your retirement money and move to Mexico, Philippines, Russia and a lot of other countries.

Our dollar goes from 4 to 12 times farther in those countries, which is great.

When making such decisions, one must balance infrastructure, corruption, crime, standard of living, political instability and repression, risk of war, climate, many many things.

Ever know a Russian in the US who isn’t shipping things back to Russia, including money, clothes and cars?

And that’s not only recent.

And a Russian Ruble is worth one U.S. penny.

And the average Russian worker’s salary is $750 a month.

I was there (Moscow) in '95. I dated a (pretty blonde woman) who was an economics professor at a college in Moscow. She made ~$100/month, US.

So her grocery bill would be ~1 month's wage.

Australia used to have cheaper food that we do, even in Sydney where I visited. Not sure if it’s still that way.

The other place I went often was Hungary and food was about 60% of what it is here. The catch is that the average Hungarian is paid much, much less than a person in Western Europe or the United States.

We have our government trying to eliminate farms and ranches because climate, and lots of food processing plants have been destroyed domestically in the last four years.

I’m sure those two aren’t linked.

Pair those with inflation and fuel costs (again, climate) and everything is more expensive.

____

I just traded in my very old iPhone.
They erased everything on it and said they will send it to some 3th world country to re-sell.
