If they paid me $10,000 to take one, I might think about it.
But probably not.
I would need to buy a gas powered generator to put in the pickup bed so I wouldn’t be stranded.
In 30 years EVs might be worth considering

Per Google search.....

How much money does Ford lose on every Mach-E?
According to Ford, it lost about $US36,000 ($AU57,000) on each of the 20,962 electric cars it sold across the three-month period – totalling a loss of $US754. 6 million ($AU1. 19 billion) – despite sales of the Mustang Mach-E increasing by 42.5 per cent to 14,842 examples sold.Oct 30, 2023

The Mustang Mach E is an SUV? No way, not interested at any price.

The Mach-E is NOT and never has been a Mustang. It is wholly unworthy of the name.

I have two friends who put their life savings into building a McMansion near the new, under construction Ford Blue Oval City battery plant in Tennessee.

They said the place will boom once everyone is driving electric cars. They expect the house to be worth 3x more than they paid for it once the plant is completed.

That’s an awfully big bet, everything on the success of a battery plant.

It’s the Pontiac Aztec’s ghost, back from the grave to haunt us all.

Not to mention you can’t get one with curb weight under 4,394 lbs. They only get heavier from there.

Probably better off in buying a George Foreman Grill than toasting wieners and marshmallows over your flaming F=150 Lightning.

I just test drove a Lightning Lariat yesterday. Really an awesome truck. So comfortable, fast and quite. When it has a highway range of 400 miles and recharge time of 10 minutes and fast charging cost simular to gasoline it will be a hit. If I was to drive it around just locally and charging at home it would really be superior to the gasoline version. The problem is road trips during cold temps.

I *might* think about it if the EV came with a 200 mile extension cord and fire insurance for my garage. Oh, and free lifetime battery replacement.

But since none of those things are mentioned in the article, I’m going to pass.
