Not sure about crap games, but barbecued rib joints would be an improvement over KFC. The Colonel's chicken was once great, but doesn't taste so good since they changed the recipe some years ago.
When I want fried chicken, or a rotisserie chicken, I just go to my local supermarket. It’s cheaper and tastes good.
The downside is they do just two batches, at 10:30 for lunch and 3:30 for dinner.
We love Kroger’s fried chicken at the hot kiosk. Eight pieces for $8. Three pieces one day, three pieces the next day, and a couple left over for snacks. Pretty good deal.
My local Safeway has “Cheep Chicken” Monday. $5.99 for four thighs and four drums, either fried or baked. It’s the best.
There is a lot of competition in the fried chicken marketplace in Chicago. Part of this may be KFC pricing itself out of the market. But then again, the locations that are challenging to operate are probably no longer profitable due to the difficulty of urban operations.
