When buying olive oil, make sure it has a certification on it. Most olive oil from outside the US is corrupted with other types of oil. California has a certification process, that includes a high level of testing for purity. There is a symbol on the label that certifies purity.

Several years back, Australia required all olive oil importers to submit their oil for testing. None of them passed- they were all corrupted.

Yes, indeed. Thanks for the comment! I always pay a bit more, and only buy “California Olive Ranch” olive oil. Thanks to Biden’s inflation, it is quite expensive. So now I go with their “Global Blend” instead, and hope they’ve kept their standards high.

Great information, thanks! As long as I’ve had olive oil in my diet (which is forever) I never thought about a connection between olive oil and colitis.
