President Vladimir Putin on Thursday hinted at higher taxes for wealthy individuals and companies, saying that a fairer distribution of the tax burden was needed as he urged Russian businessmen to invest in Russia.

"I propose thinking about approaches to modernising our fiscal system, to a fairer distribution of the tax burden towards those with higher personal and corporate incomes," Putin said in a speech to lawmakers and other members of Russia's elite.

"Conversely, lowering the tax burden on families through deductions is needed, stimulating businesses that invest funds in development, in the implementation of infrastructure and social projects."

Putin ordered the government and the State Duma to submit specific proposals in the near future.

Russia’s federal income tax rate is 13% up to $5 million. Russian sourced income for non-residents is 13%, 15%, or 30%, depending on their employment status and the source of their income.

Then they have a 10% (food, medicine, and books) to 20% (fashion, technology, watches, and jewelry) VAT tax, kind of like a sales tax, on purchased goods.

Boy, wouldn’t we like that.

I doubt he knows what the present income tax rate is in Russia, thereby showing that someone is spoon-feeding him articles.

And a few others also stinking up the place.

How did all these Fed contractors get a platform here to root for Biden and troll the longtime conservative support?

Putin did what American conservatives can only DREAM of -- implement a 13% flat tax rate. Even if the taxes are raised in Russia for the rich, the tax rates for the rich will still be far less than they are here.

Only dishonest imbecile would attack Putin for this without praising him for pushing through a 13% flat tax rate in the first place.

You're a clown, Marcus.

Read the article. “Putin” said increase taxes on the “rich” and lower taxes on the “poor”. That’s not a flat tax. It’s the Squad Tax.
