Back in January, I posted a thread about Reading Any Good Books and it got over 200 responses.
It's been two months. What have you been reading?
I do like short stories. I should make a note of this for something different to read.
If you liked The Princess Bride movie (Yes, I know Meathead directed it), then I *HIGHLY* recommend “As you wish”. It’s Cary Elwes notes about the production of the movie, and is an awesome read.
Burke's Lore Briefs #1: "A Heavenly Date" / "My Damned Best Friend" -- 2 short stories and a bonus story
In A Flash 2020 -- 20 flash stories of fantasy & science fiction, with some pirates, spies, horror, and kindergarten noir.
I haven’t read em all, but the ones I did read really had me feeling like I was there, experiencing the things going on- he was a great writer. I guess the reason I like,Sci fi is because real life is so screwed up that it’s nice to escape to other worlds from time to time- but then I have to eventUally put the book down and get back to the daily grind of life again.
I liked the chronicles of Narnia series too, but those I think were more for younger readers- but it was cool imagining being on other planets as i read through the books descriptions of other worlds.
Joe Ledger Series by Jonathan Maberry.
I love Gerald Schroder.
I’ll have to look into that book.
“Clytemnestra” by Costanza Casati.
An absorbing read, but it is, after all, a fictional account of a fictional person...

I love reading historical accounts, especially first-hand accounts.
I got detoured into the JFK stuff this past anniversary.
Leonard’s a fine writer; nothing fancy, just good tales. Several of his stories/novels have been made into movies (3:10 to Yuma; Get Shorty). Check him out on Amazon (the short westerns collection: 30 stories; $13) His novel “Escape from Five Shadows” hooked me to read more. Cheers!
Recently read "Fire Storm" by Taylor Moore. A good 'good guy/bad guy' yarn that takes place mostly in the area of the Texas panhandle just consumed by wild fire...timely for me. Enjoyed it.
I liked those as well.
Robert Heinlein, Phillip K Dick, JRR Tolkien, HP Lovecraft, etc.
All good stuff.
Should have checked earlier, Clydine’s book is available on Amazon.
👍
I read on Kindle Unlimited streaming.
I love Elmore Leonard’s advice to writers: leave out the parts people skip when reading.
