To: where's_the_Outrage?

Someone said the other day that the three-point rule was not in effect yet when Maravich set his record. Is that correct? So Caitlin would have needed fewer baskets to score the same number of points.

When Maravich played, freshman weren’t allowed to play, so all his points came in 3 years. There was no 3 point line when he played and in 83 games(3 seasons) he averaged a little over 44 points per game. They say if there was a 3 point line when he played, nobody would ever beat his record. Comparing him to Clark is like comparing apples to beans.

Yes, the three-point FG didn’t exist when Maravich played and he only played three years in college.
