You have to remember that the Wikipedia article on this is probably controlled by the people who initiate "color revolutions" - CIA and the like [Victoria Nuland, Samantha Powers and their ilk].
The article presents these things as mostly innocuous, instead of the sinister things they actually are.

It’s just using some color to represent your movement. Anyone can do this. The trouble is that a color labeled movement is totally easy for your opponent to co-opt it, or for there to be mission drift.
