They don’t use DST on the East Coast? I thought only AZ was smart enough to say no to it.

Oh yes, we use it; I was referring to the fact that as an adult, we moved from the East Coast time, to Chicago, which is on Central Standard/Central DST. So Chicago is an hour earlier than Manhattan...all year round.

Ergo, when it is 6:00 PM in NYC, its 5:00PM in Chicago. So T.V. shows are on an hour earlier there, than in NYC. And yes, the day and night times are different. Nobody notices such things IF they never move away from the time zone they were born in. OTOH, people who are sensitive to time changes DO notice.

Hawaii as well, not that they matter.

I have a house in both places, so never having to re- figure the time difference makes it easy on an olde farte like me.

Arizona used to observe daylight savings time but discontinued in 1967.
Because it was silliness and a bit dishonest.

That was back before the state was owned by the cartels.
