I remember reading about a young woman who owned a Pitbul-Boxer mix. Her little baby ripped her apart one day after she startled it, waking it from a deep sleep. She was about 30 years old. Neighbors had to shoot it to get it off her neck, but it was too late.
I’m down South and there are a lot of dog fighters in the area. They pay people, usually meth heads, to steal small dogs from people to use as bait. The meth heads will even break into houses or grab them out of your fenced yard. It’s a big business here and our sheriff doesn’t care. Not enough money in raiding dog fighters I guess.
The dog fighters are skin head types or black. Most I have seen are white with tats all over their bodies. Blacks are dripping with bling but there aren’t as many of them in rural TN.
I have three small dogs in the house, and I put cameras up inside and out just in case. My daughter lives next door with two hounds outside that bark. She works from home and her office window faces my house. So far nobody has tried to get mine, but they won’t like what happens if they do.
Our shelter sends them up North if they aren’t aggressive or been taught to fight. In that case, they euthanize them.
The parents should be sterilized.
Yup, the gangster status. I have a friend from work, and he lives in NYC. Walking his Pitbull give him thug status, instant street creds. His insurance company raised his rates quite a bit after they found out it was a pitbull.
Insurance companies need to drop homeowners with these animals. Landlords need to refuse to rent to these people. Let them lose a house if having a nasty vicious beast is so important to them.

Smoking says “FU” better than nearly any other thing and the bitter, acrid ashtray smell you drag around everywhere you go is still, for some reason, socially acceptable.
Not as noxious as the smell of weed/marijuana, but sickening nonetheless.
All the shelters are overflowing with them.
My daughter’s neighbor has a pair of pit bulls. They got out once and bit her friend while power walking.
My grandkids have a long walk from the bus to the house up the driveway. I am very worried

True the parents bear the responsibility. It’s no different than if they kept a rattlesnake or some other dangerous animal. However the breed is dangerous and only fools and those willfully blind to the facts (just like the idiots who vote Democrat) in spite of the evidence that they are not safe pets keep them. While many of them will not Killy or maul anyone some will so why take the chance.

No hospitalization, but the dog ripped clothing and drew blood.
The attack (post #9) happened about 30 years ago. And I think that’s significant. My friend got away with paying out a couple of hundred dollars.
Had the attack happened today, the victim probably would have filed a lawsuit. My friend would have had to pay out much more. And deservingly so.
Breeds of dogs. Tribes of men.
There are tribes of men like pit bulls.
Civilized thinly, but not domesticated.
It is nature.....genetic.
Warm and fuzzy until just the wrong trigger is pulled.
BUT...what do I know.
Those tribes are why much of the world speaks English.
And what doesn’t speak English, speaks Spanish or Mandarin.

Pitbulls... One of the breeds that shouldn’t be allowed around anyone with kids or near families with kids but I look at society and there’s a quite a few that shouldn’t be allowed to breed period.
Should be the only appropriate response to any dog that attacks and kills in an unprovoked incident.

We all knew from the headline what breed of dog was involved.
Pit bulls and feral humans write their own stories in the headlines.

Small dogs like ankle biters can at least be drop kicked across the room.
I love dogs. Have had many over the years. Pit Bulls not so much.
And yes. The parents are to blame for letting the dog through the frond door in the first place.

When I was younger I worked for a weathetization company. We were in a ghetto house in Detroit. One of the residents was clearly a drug dealer. He had a pit bull. (He wasn’t home while we were working). His pit bull walked outside and killed a dog in the backyard.
Welfare rat grandma freaked out and asked us to kill the dog.
Ok. Since drug dealer had a gun in his room we used it.
