It’s up to you. The reasons people do or don’t are probably extremely varied.

I spent a lot of years at sea where I’ve seen several people get de-gloved by wearing their rings around shipboard, I took my rings off years ago, decades ago and I’ve never put them back on because there are hazards wearing them in industrial areas (ships are industrial, as are semi- trucks, as are cement mixers) and I’m not used to wearing them to... my fingers have grown.

Seeing somebody get seriously De-gloved on a chain fall or some other mechanical device is something you will never forget.
