The wealthy liberal would be emigrants are not talking about moving to Latin America but to southern Europe, countries that have similar immigration problems as the U.S. Given past statements by high profile Hollywood leftists about leaving America after the election of the younger Bush and Trump, you have to be skeptical. But leftist American emigration to Europe did happen in the 1920s. Like the artists and writers who fled to Europe, especially Paris, in light of the first Red Scare and the White House under conservative Republicans Harding and Coolidge, they are ideological emigrants.
