It depends on which ocean they are in.

Hurricanes for the Atlantic and typhoons for the Pacific, but monsoons are not tropical cyclones.

The intertropical convergence zone, ITCA, is the meteorological equator and moves north and south every year as the seasons change and the sun moves north and then back south annually.

Long and short of it is, we are too far north. The meteorological equator does not come that far north.

Is this movie saying we really have to worry about a new Ice Age, or are they just telling us that climate change will not be that bad?

Within the first 30 seconds he recommends the book Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds written by Charles Mackay and first published in 1841. It was written over 180 years ago, but it is as relevant and timely now as it was then.

His thesis is that all the people promulgating the climate change hoax are not technical people and their ideas are ridiculous. He does a pretty good job.

Not that people with the attention spans of goldfish will ever watch it.

Sorry. I misunderstood what you meant.

I saw another site that said they were not sure where the word came from.

“”Climate is a complex topic. Kind of hard to sum up.””

Reminds me of:

Known Knows
Known Unknowns
Unknown Knowns
Unknown Unknowns

We have come a long way in knowledge. Some of the Globull Wackos are just useful idiots and others are searching for a religion. Many Globull Hoaxers are evil control Freaks.

The new James Webb Space Telescope also comes to mind. It is reaching out to the edge of the known universe. What is beyond? We do not know yet. Before the Hubble Space Telescope examined a small, relatively empty part of the night sky, some scientists estimated there were about 200 million galaxies. After the Hubble Deep Space Image, the number of estimated galaxies expanded into the trillions. That small patch of ‘empty’ space in the night sky was FULL of galaxies.

The more we expand our knowledge, the more questions arise, and that is the nature of real science.

The beginning of Wisdom is the ability to say “I don’t know.”

God made many of us with a very curious nature. God provided us with gifts to explore and find out just what the heck things are, how they work, etc.

Did God put evolution in place? Did God allow evolution to develop on its own? I will never pretend to know what God has in mind, other than faith, love and kindness. Perhaps we will know when we all return home to God’s grace.

Climate science is humbling and no laughing matter. I am no expert but it appears these leftists are focusing on the wrong problem.

If one looks at the last interglacial (Eemian) and were to compare it to today's Holocene period you find that temps were several degrees warmer and seas were 20-30' higher than today. This occurred despite the fact that CO2 in Eemian was 280ppm vs today's 420ppm.

Many people talk about the fact the Earth was warmer millions of years ago and CO2 levels were much higher etc. But one doesn't have to go back that far to get a good comparison. The Eemian was a little over 100K years ago and is our most recent datapoint for comparison. The Eemian data proves that it was warmer in recent times with lower CO2 levels.

We are 11.5K or so into the holocene interglacial. Interglacials last perhaps 10-15K years. We may not start the next glacial cycle for thousands of years or it may start up soon. No one knows. But the transition periods in and out of these glacial cycles seem to happen pretty fast based on the data.

If the next glacial cycle were to begin any time soon now THAT would be a major problem. In the last glacial cycle (90K to 20K years ago) 2,000 feet of ice covered New York City.

Looking at the graph temperature-wise, we should continue to get warmer.

Looking at the graph time-wise, the temp should start falling any day.

Thanks, interesting stuff!
